Working In The Field As an Intern.

This paper explores  my experience working as an intern together with a Social Worker at a Day Care Center. My task includes classroom visits, working in small groups with children who need evaluation, writing behavioral plan with close supervision from the Social Worker, Working with students and families in problem solving and managing caseloads.

Iwill also explain what I have learned so far and how this experience has helped me develop my skills.

When I first started my internship, I was very nervous. I had no idea what to expect or what I would be doing on a daily basis. However, after shadowing the Social Worker and getting a feel for the work environment, I discovered that it was not as daunting as I thought it would be. One of the things that I have enjoyed the most is working with the children in small groups. It gives me an opportunity to get to know them better and to understand their needs.

Additionally, writing behavioral plans has been a great learning experience for me. It has helped me to understand how to create goals and objectives that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound.

Furthermore, I have also learned how to manage my caseload and how to communicate effectively with families. This experience has been invaluable for me and has helped me to develop my skills as a Social Worker.

Overall, I am enjoying my internship and I am learning a lot. I would encourage anyone who is considering a career in Social Work to intern in a field that they are interested in. It is a great way to gain experience and to learn about the job.
