Roles and functions of major organizations in global health

This research paper will examine the roles and functions of three major organizations in global health. These organizations are the World Health Organization (WHO), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Each organization has a different focus in global health, but all three work together to address the most pressing health concerns around the world.

The World Health Organization is the leading international agency for public health. WHO's goal is to improve the health of all people by providing leadership on global health issues, shaping policies, setting norms and standards, and providing technical support and tools. WHO works with partners across the globe to promote health equity and ensure that everyone has access to quality healthcare.

USAID is an independent agency of the United States Government that provides economic, development, and humanitarian assistance around the world. USAID's work is focused on supporting countries to achieve self-reliance and build resilience to global challenges like poverty, conflict, and climate change. USAID partners with governments, civil society organizations, the private sector, and people around the world to provide life-saving assistance and promote long-term development.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is the leading national public health institute of the United States. CDC's mission is to protect public health and promote human well-being by providing leadership and direction for disease control and prevention. CDC works with partners across the globe to conduct research, develop policies, and provide technical assistance to prevent and respond to infectious and chronic diseases.

All three of these organizations play a vital role in global health, and each has a unique contribution to make.
