This paper will discuss some of the prominent personalities from the American Revolutionary War. George Washington was one of the most important people in the war, serving as commander-in-chief of the Continental Army. He played a pivotal role in leading his troops to victory over Britain and securing America's independence. Thomas Jefferson was another influential leader during this period. He wrote the Declaration of Independence and served as the nation’s third President. Benjamin Franklin was also highly influential, serving not only as a founding father but also using diplomatic skills to gain support for America from France and other countries.

 

Paul Revere is remembered for alerting colonial militia forces before British troops arrived in Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts during April 1775. He later participated in both land and sea battles against British forces. Marquis de Lafayette was a French aristocrat who volunteered to fight alongside American revolutionaries. His intelligence and courage in battle earned him the admiration of General Washington, who eventually made him a major general. Finally, Benedict Arnold is known as one of the most notorious traitors in America’s history. He initially fought valiantly for the Continental Army, but eventually switched sides and provided information that helped Britain gain victory in some battles. This paper will provide an overview of each of these influential personalities and their contributions to the American Revolutionary War.

 

Many other individuals were also important during this period, such as Alexander Hamilton, John Adams, James Madison, Nathan Hale and Stephen Decatur. These men all played an active role in fighting against British forces and working to secure independence for the United States.

 

In conclusion, the American Revolutionary War was fought by many brave individuals who risked their lives in pursuit of freedom. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Paul Revere, Marquis de Lafayette and Benedict Arnold were some of the most prominent personalities during this era. They were instrumental in fighting for America’s independence from Great Britain and setting the foundation for a new nation. Ultimately, it is this incredible group of people that made America what it is today.
