Revolutionary War Personalities

This paper will discuss some of the prominent personalities from the American Revolutionary War. George Washington was one of the most important people in the war, serving as commander-in-chief of the Continental Army. He played a pivotal role in leading his troops to victory over Britain and securing America's independence. Thomas Jefferson was another influential leader during this period. He wrote the Declaration of Independence and served as the nation’s third President. Benjamin Franklin was also highly influential, serving not only as a founding father but also using diplomatic skills to gain support for America from France and other countries.

Paul Revere is remembered for alerting colonial militia forces before British troops arrived in Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts during April 1775. He later participated in both land and sea battles against British forces. Marquis de Lafayette was a French aristocrat who volunteered to fight alongside American revolutionaries.
